Graham Timmins — The Artist

I live in Ipswich and am a writer, painter and teacher of drawing, painting and meditation techniques. I work in a studio, set in a beautiful, well-stocked courtyard garden providing a beautiful environment in which to work.

I was the drawing and painting tutor for Woodbridge art club for a time and have assisted in the teaching of The Watercolour Week at Weobley under the ARCA organization.

I now teach locally at the Ipswich Institute and demonstrate and lecture in drawing, watercolour, oil and pastel to schools, societies, groups and individuals.

I try to create jewel-like paintings full of impact, mood and vibrant colours and feel there is a case for using beautiful art creatively in the home and workplace where an accent of colour is often missing. Providing a focus of beauty in the places where we spend a lot of our time enables us to feel a greater sense of wellbeing and peace. Despite the vibrancy of the colour people sense a restful quality to my work

The subject matter for the paintings themselves covers a range of subjects:

  • lush tropical beaches,
  • quiet sunlit English woodlands,
  • energetic seascapes,
  • local and continental landscapes & townscapes,
  • vibrant sunsets,
  • portraiture
  • and figure studies.
