What can a work of art do for you? Well it depends on what the artist had in mind and what motivates them to create their works.
In my case I am motivated by beauty, light, and joy. Life can be so dark and I would like to think that my art is a subtle but clear statement of the human capacity for wonder at the beauty of this world. So often we are reminded of the opposite but I would like to think that my art is balm for the soul and nourishes the spirit of mankind. I would like to think that having my paintings on the wall are links to simpler truths which we all can lose sight of from time to time. In the sea of chaos these images can represent something eternal, simple yet profound, wordless and, yes, transcendental.
